AITA for calling the person who rescued my wife from a flasher a creep?

I'm going to try to make this as quick and painless as possible. My wife was at the grocery store a couple days ago when some older guy, probably in his 60s or 70s, started flashing her. I don't know how she didn't notice or care about all the other customers around (she's a very considerate person and wouldn't want anyone else to have to see that), but she covered her face and sat on a cart or something. Anyway, some young dude probably in his late teens to early twenties walked over and asked the guy if he wanted to leave with him. The guy said yes, got up and started walking with the young dude. My wife left the store without the creep following her, and I guess the dude came back later because the police called me to ask me if I knew of anyone who might have done this and I gave them a description.

A couple nights later, I go to the coffee shop to study for finals (I'm a student) when this guy walks in, obviously recognizing me, and comes up to talk to me. He tells me he's the same guy who helped my wife and apologizes for the incident. I tell him it's no problem and that the police are looking for people like this.

Then, he starts asking me about myself, and I tell him I'm a student. He says he's "also in education" and starts telling me about all these young people he works with who have problems with porn and "hypersexuality" (I guess that's a thing?) and asks if I can give him my wife's number. I tell him she's not interested and ask why he's interested if she's not. He says she's beautiful and that he'd like to pick her up and take her out.

At this point, I tell him that's very unprofessional of him to ask and that she's not interested, and that I consider him a creep for asking. I then leave the coffee shop, and later when we're alone, I tell my wife that this dude asked for her number. She was angry with me for not telling her right away and calling him a creep, but I didn't want to upset her when I was studying.

So, AITA?
