AITA for giving pizza to people off the street when my husband tried to stop me from giving it to a medical student because he wanted wine.

I (40F) am someone who hates wasting food. I also love helping others.

My husband (46M) and I invited a few friends over for pizza. He was supposed to pick me up from work but he got late, and by the time he did, I had already left. Leaving him with the entire obligation of picking up pizza and bringing it home. I got home before he did, and when he was about 15 minutes away, wine delivery came through.

Typically I would open the door, but since I wasn't expecting company, I wasn't dressed to convince people I'm an adult with an ID so I rang my husbands phone to check if he was around to open the door, but he didn't answer. There was this guy in the parking lot who was doing something with his car nearby, so I asked him to open the door, and explained my situation. He agreed. The wine delivery person left and I went inside to call my husband to see where he was. He answered and said 15 and I told him the door was open so come on through. I was expecting him to come right away, but he didn't.

So I go back outside and I find the same guy from the parking lot, in my house, drinking the wine and eating the pizza. At that point I was too annoyed to describe the situation to him. I told him to get out and threatened to call the police.

It took probably another 15 minutes for my husband to show up. I was fuming when he did. He and his friends came and started eating. It lasted for a few hours and 2 pizzas were leftover. I wanted to give it to a student in one of the rooms. He veto'd that and said we should keep it for me to eat. If I didn't want it or couldn't finish it, then I could give it away.

I went and knocked on a few doors. Didn't convince people I was an adult again, so I hid the pizza on the stairs and came back and told my husband what I did. He yelled at me and told me to go get it or throw it away.

As I was going down the stairs I saw a guy eating it. I couldn't get myself to tell him I was throwing it away so I let him eat. I came back and told my husband this and he got mad. He said it was for one of our guests that was coming later but I told him they already ate. He said he wanted to drink wine and needed food with it, and pizza is a good pairing. I told him to pizza was gone and he told me to go get it, which I didn't.

He's been mad at me for this for days. He thinks I was being reckless when I opened the door, and I disrespected him when I gave away the pizza. I don't see what's wrong with helping someone in need.
