I'll probably get downvoted for this but whatever. I'm just trying to start a discussion.

I'm not sure how many of you actually want to live in a patriarchal society, but I've got news for you, fellas: these sort of societies aren't as male-friendly as you'd like to believe.

Male education is mandatory. Women are discouraged to join the workforce, and instead are expected to be housewives because their main role in life is to raise children, but men *have* to be educated in order to find employment. Education is expensive. You're expected to work almost your entire life to support yourself and your family, all while being seen as an embarrassment if you fail in any of those roles.

Prior to the 20th century, women couldn't vote, but boys as young as 16 were sent to die in wars. Women were expected to stay at home and raise children, but men were expected to work until they died.

Even in modern patriarchal societies, men are expected to work and provide all the time. They're shamed for not working, even if they want to stay at home and raise children. Women are discouraged to work and are even prevented from finding employment in certain jobs, but boys are driven to work until they die, even if they don't want to.

Some of you say women are lazy for not contributing financially and should be shamed (and you even shame them on this website all the time). But men are shamed even more in patriarchal societies. At least women have the luxury to stay at home and raise children. Men are seen as failures if they don't work, even if they want to stay home and raise kids.

I can't help but feel that women have it way better in patriarchal societies than men do. I'd rather be a woman who can stay at home and raise kids than a man who has to work until he dies and be shamed for not doing so.
