I've always assumed it was weird people pretending to be cops, until I met one

Throwaway, because I'm going to tell a story about my sex life lol. I have a bit of a thing for police, specifically female police, and have had a few ex-gf's who were police.<br><br>So, I met a girl and we are hanging out. Have sex, it's fun, life is good. The next day we are chilling at my place, when a woman calls on the phone and says "There's been a bunch of break ins in your area, have you noticed anything?"<br><br>I say no, but I let her in.<br><br>She's a very pretty female police office. We talk for 10 minutes or so. Then she says something like "I'm going to check your back yard". So, we go to my back yard.<br><br>As we are talking, my new gf walks outside. The cop immediately starts talking quietly to her, then shows her a badge.<br><br>I had assumed the cop was hitting on me, and my gf was now mad at the cop.<br><br>It turns out, my gf used to date the cop, and she and the cop are now angry at me for not disclosing that I'm poly.<br><br>So, we are all sitting in my living room, and my now ex-gf and her ex-gf are yelling at me for being a liar.<br><br>That was probably 15 years ago at this point. I assume the cop was using the "break in" thing as an excuse to get in my house and set me up for this, but who knows. I've always assumed it was weird people who were pretending to be cops and doing this, but now I know.<br><br>I can't imagine the kind of person who gets into law enforcement just so they can do things like this.<br><br>So, cops who set up poly guys, let's not meet.<br><br>Edit: I realize now this is not really a normal "let's not meet" story. She was trying to get me, but it was more of a mean ex thing than a random "I'm going to do something weird to this person" thing. I don't think she was trying to hurt me or anything, she just really hated my then gf and wanted to cause a problem between us.
