What if there's no heaven? What if there is? And what if the standards for getting into heaven are so high that we're all fucked?

What if hell is real? What if it's a place for everyone who doesn't meet the standards of a deity with standards that are too high for anyone to achieve? What if hell isn't some torture place but just eternal consciousness with no body and the inability to ever die?

What if reincarnation is real? What if you keep getting reincarnated until you finally get it right? But what if there's no such thing as "getting it right"? Do you have to be perfect? Is that even possible? Does it take decades? Centuries? Milleniums? What if you can never be perfect? What if the only possibility is eternal failure?

What if there is no afterlife, but the universe is consciousness-based and your consciousness never actually disappears? What if you're stuck in a state of absolute nothingness and loneliness and isolation forever and ever with no ability to die or end your consciousness, and there's no one there to talk to, and your memories of your time on earth are fading away and you can't do anything to preserve them? What if this is the ultimate fate of every living thing in the universe?

What if death is as simple as rotting in a box in the ground until your body is decomposed and your bones have turned to dust, and your consciousness ends and that's it? What if every moment, every experience, every love, every friendship, every accomplishment in your entire life ultimately meant nothing and led to nothing? What if it was all meaningless, and we're all stupid fools for thinking it ever meant anything? The thought that this could potentially be the ultimate truth is significantly more terrifying than any hell I could imagine.
