Angry man followed us home

This happened to my sister when she was 9 and me (3) about 10 years ago.

My family was visiting my dad's friend family in a city about 2 hours away from our home. The father of the family was an old friend of my dad's and he was about 40 at the time. We had been there for a few days and when they had to go to church one Sunday morning, we decided to "hang back" and go to the mall instead. My dad disappeared to go drink the whole time he was there so it was just us 2 girls staying at their home.

We left the house at about 10 am and the weather was pretty crappy that day, rain and snow, cloudy and overall pretty crappy.

We walk about 3,5 km to the mall and walked around for a few hours, me on the stroller. My sister disappeared for a few minutes and got really scared when she came back and couldn't find me. She described a man matching my dad's description to the mall staff, asking "if they had seen the man with long, black hair that was with a little girl just a few minutes ago". I had just left with my dad but she thought she had lost me.

She was so happy when I came back a few minutes later with dad, but then still threw a fit bc she thought he had left her behind. I don't know if she remembers this, but I do recall being absolutely terrified that my dad had left me all alone.

We do some more shopping and it starts getting a little later, maybe 2-3 pm so we decide to head back home. We leave the mall, and my sister is carrying all these plastic bags. I run ahead just a little bit to cross the street, and a car screeches to a halt, just barely hitting me (not hard, but enough to push me).

My sister screams and runs towards me and the man in the car sticks his middle finger up at her, shouting "fuck you bitch". She makes me promise not to move, and she runs after the car, picks up a big concrete stone from the ground and throws it towards the car. She hits the car, and the man, a caucasian man in his mid 40's with long, black hair and a leather jacket brakes down, gets out and comes towards us.

He shakes his fist at us and yells at us to get the fuck out of his country. He then jumped back into his car and sped off.

We continued walking, me on the stroller, and at one point we stop at a red light. My sister said "OMG, he's just parked his car over there, I see him walking towards us". I look over and sure enough, it's the same guy from earlier, walking towards us at full speed.

My sister starts to run with me in the stroller but after a few seconds, she picks me up and starts sprinting while carrying me.

We continued running for about 4 km, until we got to the house we were staying at, banging on the door until someone opened up. My sister describes the man to the father of the house, and he said that that sounded like someone who lives across the street.

The father of the house helped us file a police report, and told us the guy was an alcoholic with a history of violence.

When my dad got home, we told him everything and he absolutely refused to file a report, saying it was too late anyway, we had no license plate, etc. He barely even acknowledged what had happened, just said it was too bad and that he was gonna go drink.

The next morning, my dad, who had been drinking heavily the whole night, came to our room and said that he was gonna take us to the mall again. But when we got there, he went to park the car and my sister told me to run and hide because "the kidnapper was gonna be here soon". I was hiding in a clothing store, and when my dad found me he got really mad at me for hiding, saying I had scared him so much.

My sister then told my dad, very calmly, that she saw the stalker walking into the mall. My dad grabbed us both and ran us to the car. On the car ride, my sister told him the whole story and when he heard it, he got absolutely livid at us both for lying, and telling such horrible lies. He accused us of making the whole thing up to get his friend in trouble.

I don't know how he thought we made up the whole thing, he had already gotten a call from his friend, but he didn't care.

Ever since then, when he's drunk, he calls us liars, and says we make shit up for attention. Both my sister and I have tried to tell other people, including our grandpa, about the whole thing, but my dad told them before hand that we were going to lie so they don't believe us.

It makes me so angry, to this day.
