I think England is a creepy place to visit.

I'm unoriginal and visited England in my early 20s to visit my girlfriend who was studying abroad in London. I'd been to Western Europe many times before, but this was my first time in England. I'd been there several days, been to London and the greater London area. I ventured up north a bit. The whole time I felt unexplainably awfully uncomfortable. I don't know if it was the architecture, or that every surface was covered in slime and moss. Everything was also LESS good than expected. It felt like my grandfather's attic.

In my time in London, I didn't see a single smile. People looked angry and emotionless. The whole city was very grey. Going to the North, to Manchester/Norwich, it was a little better. It was a little more colorful - it also looked like it was the apocalypse. Abandoned buildings everywhere covered in moss.

So that's my experience. I also saw a bearded dragon drinking a gin and tonic.
