CMV: The use of the word "Terrorist" is commonly used to oppress Muslims, particularly in countries which are not Muslim majority.

Hello everyone. I just want to preface this by saying I am 16 year old from the UK who is Muslim, and i consider myself to be quite "woke" about these issues. This is an issue i feel is common within my country, and i am interested in seeing others views from across the world.

The common usage of terrorist seems to be used to describe actions which really have no relation to an act of terrorism. An example of this is Donald Trump tweeting "Another attack in London by a loser terrorist, these are sick and demented people who were in the sights of Scotland Yard". In this context he is talking about Darren Osborne, a terrorist who drove into a crowd of people outside a mosque in London in June 2018. The common theme i see is that when the media are talk about a white suspect, they will not call them a terrorist. They will call them mentally ill, a lone wolf etc... This then leads to many white people having less sympathy and feeling less threatened by white terrorism. I feel that if the media are going to call someone who is Muslim a terrorist when they commit a horrible act, they should do the same for all people.

I am happy to listen to other people's views, and as J.K. Rowling once said "A person cannot be defined as fair unless they give you a fair hearing" so i will happily hear you out.

EDIT: Thanks for all the replies so far. I'm trying my best to go through every comment and reply. If i haven't specifically replied to yours, i still appreciate your comment :)
