AITA for getting up from my chair and leaving when my friend brought up a “bad” topic of conversation?

It’s Christmas Eve and me (f 21) and three of my friends (ft 23, f 23 and m 22) all rented a room at the hotel near the airport because our families are still stuck in the traffic on the way to my uncle’s house for Christmas. We were all sitting around talking and sharing stories and having a good time. I looked over and saw that I was the only one who brought a bottle of liquor with my drink. The topic of immigration came up and one of my friends made a “joke” about how he hates immigrants and would build a wall around our country. This made everyone very uncomfortable and the other two friends of mine gave me disapproving stares. He kept pushing the topic and brought up the racist “border patrol” meme goal that occurred this year at the r/soccer subs. At this point everyone was uncomfortable. I was ready to call him out on his racist bullshit but decided to get up from my chair and leave with my bottle of liquor instead. I thought I was being the bigger person. But now I feel like I’m an asshole for making everything even more uncomfortable and leaving when he had really “crossed the line”. I know he didn’t mean it but still. AITA?
