How many gods for each race?

So I have 6 races, and I'm trying to flesh out the gods and religions. I'll be using these gods to create history like wars, power struggles, etc but I'm not sure how many gods I should give each race. Additionally, I don't want some races to have more gods than other races, for the sake of equality. So I'll have 2 pantheons.

One pantheon I'm going to call the "Astronomical Pantheon" since they are all related to planets, stars, asteroids, etc. This pantheon will have 20-30 gods so I figure around 11-15 god per pantheon.

For a pantheon of 20-30 gods, I'm not sure how I want to divide them. I could do:

* 2 gods per race, and 2 races who have 3 gods and 2 races with 1 god (give them a powerful angel/demon associated with one god).
* 3 gods per race, with 2 races who don't have a "fanoia" (their equivalent of a holy spirit).
* 3 gods per race, 2 races who don't have an "antagonist" (see below)
* 3 gods per race, 2 races who don't have an "archishop" (see below)

For the other pantheon, I'm going to call it the "Mythological Pantheon". This would include gods for things like mountains, rivers, sea, animals, medicine, etc. I'll have an almost endless supply of these gods, so it'll be more about deciding which factions adopt which gods.

For example, the Astronomical Pantheon is about planets and stars, but the Mythological Pantheon would include gods like "God of Meteorites" or "God of Tides" or "God of Drowning" which falls under the umbrella of "God of Sea"

These are some ideas I have for each race:

**The Ailuran (Catfolk)**

* Only Race with a Holy Trinity, 2 other gods
* Trinity Members: Ailura, Goddess of the Hunt; Meo, God of the Wind; Kaiton, God of the Plains
* Other 2 gods: Felina, Goddess of Fertility; Lora, Goddess of Luck

**The Drow (Dark Elves)**

* Only Race with a God of the Dark, 2 other gods
* Zorvath, Goddess of the Dark; Morwen, God of Revenge; Daleth, God of Power

**The Humans**

* Most Number of Gods; 6 gods
* God or War; Goddess of Mercy; God of Invention; Goddess of Nature; Archangel; Antagonist

**The Valtor (Dragonfolk)**

* No Fanoia (Holy Spirit), 2 other gods
* Tharros, God of Fieriness; Delila, Goddess of Storms

**The Lotari (Horse Folk)**

* No Antagonist, 2 other gods
* Aethon, God of the Skies; Eriol, God of Galloping

**The Luminari (Elf/God hybrids)**

* No Archbishop, 2 other gods
* Elyria, Goddess of the Heavens; Althor, God of the Forests

However, these are literally just names.

For the Astronomical Pantheon, I already have a basic idea of their roles/godheads. But for the Mythological Pantheon, I'm going to have to create like 30 gods in one go.

I'm thinking, instead of 30 gods with fleshed out personalities, roles, backstories, etc, what if I create 4-5 templates for gods, and then fill in the blanks with the race?

For example, if I create a template like this:

**Archbishop:**

* First name is [Name of race's Capital City]
* Second name is [Name of Language of Race]
* Goddess/Priestess of [Name of God/Goddess from Primary Pantheon]
* God/Goddess of [Name of Primary Pantheon] for the [Name of Race]
* Personality: [Personality of Primary Pantheon God/Goddess]
* Role: Mediator between Primary Pantheon God/Goddess and race
* Backstory: Archbishop [First Name] [Second Name] was born as a human but at [age] was called by [Primary Pantheon God/Goddess] to be their voice in the mortal world. [Second Name] accepted, and God/Goddess [Primary Pantheon God/Goddess] stripped them of their mortality and appointed them Archbishop.

Then I can use this template to create archbishops for different races, by just plugging in the required information for each race. I can do this for 5 different templates, and then have 6 races x 5 templates x 2 pantheons = 60 gods in the mythological pantheon, while only creating 5 templates.
