Visiting a child after they’ve fallen asleep in a parent’s arms is a great way to avoid doing child-care when visiting friends or family

When I was a teen-ager, I had a few friends who had younger siblings. When my friends and I were hanging out at their house, the parents would inevitably want me to hold the baby for a few minutes because “they’re so cute”. To get around this, I started waiting for the kid to fall asleep in one of the parent’s arms and would then ask for the kid. I would hold the kid until they woke up and then give it back to my friends mom.

A sleeping baby is not a “cute” baby.
