If you have depression or know someone who does you have heard the line "Just get outside, go out there and do something and you'll feel better." This is a terrible piece of advice, it can make matters worse.

I don't know of anyone who hates activity more than the depressed. I'd love to be out there hiking, or dancing, or doing anything. Sometimes I will try to go out and do things and I just don't enjoy it. For those who don'
t have depression don't tell people isolation is bad, it is all they have. What the depressed need is not to be called weak or lazy but rather someone to sit in the silence with them, to be there when they want to talk. That is all they want.

readme досвід
