How would you feel if your parents were to crush your first car?

Toxic family has finally decided to move out of the house I own. To celebrate, I want to restore my parents old car that my father gave me. It is in terrible condition, but in great shape for someone who is trying to learn to restore a car. My parents have wanted to restore the car for their entire lives, but have never had the opportunity. I have been searching Craigslist for a donor car to use when I get enough money saved up. I finally found one and as I was setting the appointment with the guy today my parents were off on a tangent about how they wish they could crush the car because it is in too bad of shape. It is on a lift with a blown head gasket so I know it’s not in great shape but what they are saying is ridiculous. They shouldn’t have left it in a park for two years in the middle of Arizona. Anyways, if I had crushed the car it would have left me with even more work to do cause then the engine would have been on the lift and where would we get new parts from? It’s not like they actually have a plan. How would you feel if your parents destroyed your first car?
