i stole a public school system

I used to work in residence internet sales. my job was to pedal peoples internet services to residents of specific apartment complexes. my company’s owner hired residence internet providers from around the world. he was known for taking over the internet services of the entire city by getting a local school system to sign an exclusivity contract with us for an extremely discounted rate. if the school system signed with us, they would get all of this internet at a price that no other company could compete with. this was the catch. if a school system signed with us, they couldn’t sign with our competitors. we would then go sell that internet at each of the school system’s resident’s houses. each person residence could only pay a maximum amount to sign up, but the company would always run “promotions” to give all residents 100mbps for $39.99 each. if they didn’t pay $39.99 each, each resident would only get 1.4mbps. even if that entire house is paying us for internet, if 2-3 of those residents don’t pay their bill one month, they all get reduced to 1.4mbps for every device. it was a scam. that’s why we were able to give the school system such a low rate. we would make our money off of the residents. since we were a smaller company, our prices were higher than our competitors, so no person would ever sign a residence internet contract with us unless we were the only company that could provide it to them. this whole scam is based on exclusivity contracts. where each resident is forced to sign with us or go without. each person pays a rate that is 2-3 times higher than our competitors. there are entire cities that don’t even have a choice in their internet provider. we forced our competitors out of business. an internet connection is a basic human necessity. the poor don’t have a choice. ai is taking everyone’s jobs, is this how the internet is supposed to work?
