Was the 2001 Afghanistan war really what led to the withdrawal of NATO forces from Afghanistan?

I have questions regarding the 2001 Afghanistan war. If I remember correctly (and I probably don't since this stuff happened like 20 years ago), America invaded Afghanistan after 9/11 in 2001 because the Taliban refused to give up Osama bin Laden, head of Al-Qaeda, the guys who attacked the twin towers. (I assume there were other reasons but that was the main one.)

This invasion somehow led to the Taliban's defeat, with them losing power in the government (if I remember correctly). But they still held a lot of power. It seems to me that the US and other countries just "helped" Afghanistan defeat the Taliban and get rid of the Al-Qaeda, but didn't actually really end the problem.

It's been like 20 years since that war, and it seems to me that the Taliban are back in power, and that there are still conflicts there. These past few years, we've seen the withdrawal of NATO forces from Afghanistan, and I'm wondering, was the 2001 war really what led to this?

I assume that there are some other reasons, and I'd love to learn about this if someone could tell me more. Thank you!
