I had the most peculiar and surreal experience I've ever had, and I'm not sure what to make out of it

I'm a 22 year old male and have been an avid user of drugs like LSD and shrooms for the better part of a decade. I've had my fair share of trips but this one was the weirdest by far.

I was on a really bad batch of acid that just wouldn't stop working, I'd taken about a fifth of a tab and I think I was on that for almost 48 hours straight. The visuals were trippy as fuck and the physical side effects were getting worse and worse. By this point I could barely move, I was hot, my heart was racing and I had awful stomach cramps.

I'd zoned out and fell onto my bed, and the visuals were going crazy, the walls were like liquid and I could feel myself being pulled towards it, almost like I was being sucked into it. I felt like I was being dragged into some other realm.

I remember my thoughts were jumbled and fragmented, I thought to myself "what if I die from this trip", and then I felt an intense feeling of fear and discomfort.

Then, almost suddenly, the visuals stopped and everything went black. When I woke up it was dark outside and my girlfriend came over to check on me, I was confused as hell, I didn't know how long I slept for but it was definitely more than an hour.

I got up and used the bathroom, and I noticed something odd, my arms, shoulders, chest and stomach were covered in blood. I thought I'd thrown up blood while I slept but I don't remember doing it. I looked down at my legs and they too were covered in blood. At this point I was really confused, how did I get all this blood on me?

I turned to walk back to my bed and I noticed my bedhead was covered in blood, it was like someone had been carving meat on my bed, there were red streaks on the sheets. My first instinct was that I'd had some sort of fit or convulsion and I'd injured myself while I was sleeping. I wasn't sure what to do, I thought about calling 911, but then I noticed I was still covered in blood, there was blood on my hands, my clothes, my feet, my legs, my chest and arms, I even found blood on my face. The only place on my body that didn't have blood on it was my back.

I knew it wasn't possible for me to cover my entire body in blood without any of it getting on my back, it just didn't make any sense. I wasn't sick, I'd recently had a check up at the doctor and I was told I was fine, I didn't have any conditions or diseases that would've caused me to bleed without me knowing, I was confused as hell.

I decided to take a shower, I figured I could wash the blood away. I turned the shower on, and when the water hit me, it was pink, and it wasn't just a little bit pink, the water was a deep red color and it kept coming. I stood there in shock as the water continued to flow, and I couldn't figure out where the blood was coming from.

After about 10 minutes the water finally ran clear, I stepped out of the shower and looked at the drain, and I was shocked to see blood, there was blood running from the bottom of the shower, down the drain, there was a puddle of blood at the bottom of it, almost as if someone had been bleeding into the shower and I was the only one there.

I was freaked out, and I still had no idea where the blood had come from. I walked back to my bedroom, and I noticed my bed sheets had turned pink, I'd washed my clothes and they'd all come out pink too.

I sat there in shock, staring at my hands, I couldn't explain where the blood came from, and I couldn't understand why the blood wouldn't wash away.

Eventually I came to the conclusion that I must've injured myself somehow and had forgotten about it. I thought maybe I'd injured myself while I was on the toilet, or maybe I'd cut myself while I was on the floor.

I looked down at my legs again and I noticed something odd. There was no way that I could've possibly gotten blood all over my legs and arms and not gotten any on my back, I'd sat on the floor at one point and I'd rolled around on the ground, I'd gotten blood all over the place. I'd even noticed some blood on the carpet near my bed, almost as if I'd been bleeding on the bed and then rolled onto the carpet.

I decided to check myself out in the mirror, and I noticed my hair was bloody too, and I saw something that made my heart skip a beat. There were streaks of blood running from my forehead down my face, and I noticed something else. I was missing a chunk of my hair. I looked closer and I could see that I had a wound on my head, almost as if I'd hit myself or scratched myself, or even cut myself.

I couldn't explain how I'd gotten blood all over my body and face, or where the missing chunk of my hair came from. I couldn't remember anything, it was all a blank.

Eventually I remembered something. When the visuals were at their worst, I remembered feeling like I was being pulled towards the wall and I remember feeling myself being dragged, I remember a sense of intense fear, and discomfort. I think that's when it happened. I think that's when I scratched myself, or cut myself, or even hit myself in the head, and that's when the blood started.

I think that during the trip, my mind realized that I wasn't in control of my body anymore, and my mind freaked out and I injured myself, almost like a defense mechanism.

I've thought about that night a lot since, and every time I do, I'm left feeling uneasy. It was a really weird and confusing experience, I still don't really understand it to this day.
