AITA for allowing my female cousin to go topless at the family reunion but not my female roommate?

Context: I live in Pennsylvania. My wife, baby, and I moved into a new home a few months ago and we still live in the process of finishing it. Our house has an in-ground pool and we also have a room that is dedicated to my office. My roommate, Kat, lives in the office. She is a college student living there as part of a work for rent agreement. Shes an awesome roommate and we have 0 issues with her.

We hosted the family reunion at our house this weekend. Going into the reunion, myself, wife, and roommate were all on the same page as far as the pool being clothing optional after dark. We have an 8 foot privacy fence, but we still want people to be respectful so we dont get noise complaints from the neighbors. My wife and I were in the kitchen making dinner and got a call from my cousin Ashley asking if she could go topless at the pool without being kicked out. We told her it was fine.

Later that night, the pool was open and people were swimming. The sun was setting, and we announced that the pool was going clothing optional. My roommate Kat immediately got naked and jumped in. My wife and I didnt care and we were used to seeing her naked but my Uncle Kevin immediately kicked her off the property.

He said, “Not your family, get out”. I went off on him because it was my house and my roommate was part of my extended household. He argued that extended family members get an exception but not people I’m only familiar with. I told him to leave the reunion and it caused a huge scene.

Ashley and the rest of my cousins said that I was right since Kat was living part time at the house. The rest of my uncles side of the family said Kat shouldn’t be there in the first place since she’s not family.

Am I the asshole here? I stood my ground and defended my roommate like she was family but everyone thinks she shouldn’t have been there at all.

Edit: For everyone asking, yes my uncle would have kicked my wife out of the house too had she gotten naked in front of him. He’s a prude.

Edit2: For everyone asking, my roommate and I are not a couple. We’re not dating. The reason I’m defending her is because she’s part of my household and, while the rest of my family lives hours away, she is my family now.

Edit3: The family finished the evening with some of the older men leaving with their wives out of disgust. It was a really meh reunion. One of my cousins brought up that Kat is 22 and most of them were 22 at some point and also part of the household at one point in time. I’m not sure if it was that or my uncle finally got over his tantrum but he called me and apologized.
