You don't need, or even want communism.

Look at history. Communism inevitably leads to a terrible dictatorship. It's not working properly in China, and it never worked in the Soviet Union. Even then, the few functioning communist societies, like Vietnam and Cuba, are usually just modernized capitalist systems with a light veneer of communism painted on. Communism, at least modern communistic governments, isn't what you think it is. There's always one person in charge, plus restrictions on free speech. It's terrible, and communism has done way too much damage to the world in the past for anyone to think that it's safe.
