This post is just to share my thoughts on the ethics of using AI as a tool to create fictional worlds, and I'm sure that this is a topic of interest for a lot of people in this sub.

I use AI tools to help with the process of creating fictional worlds. While AI can't replace a human's creativity, AI is a useful tool to help generate ideas that can then be built upon. I've found it to be especially helpful in generating specific details.

But I also think that using AI to generate fictional worlds is inherently problematic, as AI is not human, and therefore has no capacity for imagination, and as such, cannot generate truly original works. It's basically a shortcut for people who don't want to put in the time to think about their stories. And it also raises questions about the legitimacy of a fictional work that has been generated using AI.

In addition to that, it raises questions about the legitimacy of a fictional world that is generated using AI. For example, what constitutes as a fictional world? Is it a world that is created by an individual using their own imagination, or is it a world that is generated using AI tools?

I'm not saying that AI shouldn't be used for world building. I think it's useful and it can be a valuable tool for world builders. But I don't think it should be used as a substitute for human creativity.
