How do you keep track of the complexity of a world you are making?

I have found that I get overwhelmed with world building because I want to include a lot of things but then it's hard to keep it all in mind.<br><br>I am not even talking about something like an elaborate system of rules and math, but just like "This place has these plants, that building has a certain thing, this event was like this, etc."<br><br>I have been using a lot of spreadsheets and different books to try and keep it all together, but that's still a lot of work to keep it all together, and it's not fun, it's like a chore. <br><br>I was thinking maybe there's a way to make it more fun? Like maybe there is a game or an app for that? I also thought maybe there was a certain way of doing it that would make it easier to remember.<br><br>So I was wondering if you do something like that and if so how, and if you find it fun or if it's a chore too?
