Why are most people in fantasy white? What's the point of this?

Most people in fantasy are white, unless they're clearly not supposed to be, like people in middle east or people in China. Why is that?

Is it because the creators don't know how to do characters of other races or is it something more?

This has been a problem that I have had for a long time. This is a part of my story that is not clear to me. I have a whole world created but the people are still mostly white. Why?

1. **It's easy.** If you don't put effort into making non-white characters, then they will be white. You have to think about creating characters of all races and that is a lot of work. It's easy to just paint everyone white. I understand how characters are created but that is a lazy way to create characters. It's not a good way to create characters and it's not a good representation of the world we live in today.

2. **It's boring.** I understand that creating characters of all races is a lot of work. But that work is not pointless. People from different races have different experiences in life and they have different personalities. You can make your characters richer by giving them different backgrounds and personalities. When everyone is the same, there is nothing to make one character stand out from the other.

3. **It's racist.** If you don't think that it is racist, it looks racist. It looks racist to people that are not like the main character. It gives the idea that one race is superior to another. If the creator doesn't know how to do characters of certain races, it gives the impression that that race is not important and that they are not interesting.

4. **It's uninteresting.** Everyone is the same, so nothing is interesting. If the main character goes on an adventure, you can already imagine how the characters will be. There is nothing to think about. When everyone is the same, you can't imagine different things happening.

I don't think there are any good answers to these questions and I would love to hear some opinions.
