People here are going to think I’m crazy

This is the craziest subchambers I’ve ever come across. The ideas presented here are wild. I think I’ve had similar experiences, but mine are nowhere near this scale or extreme.

I’m a pilot for a major airline. I’ve been doing this work for about 15 years now. I’ve been a flight instructor. I’ve logged many different types of aircraft.

About a decade ago, something happened that left a lasting impression on me. We were operating a charter flight and I was flying a Bombardier Challenger 300. It was a night flight. We were cruising at FL410 (41,000 ft). The weather was mostly clear with some scattered clouds around.

There was a medical emergency on the flight. We had a passenger who had passed out. I think he had a medical condition that had caused him to pass out, but I’m not sure. He was unconscious the entire time. One of his traveling companions called for medical help. Two medical personnel were on board (likely traveling with him). They were attempting to treat the man when one of them looked up at me and said, “Sir, I think we’re going to crash. Look at the instruments.” I looked over at the instrument panel and all the lights were out. The entire panel was blacked out. There were no lights of any kind anywhere in the cockpit.

Now, I knew exactly what was going on. I reached across and flipped the breaker that restored power to the instruments. The lights flickered and came back on. I told the two medical personnel that the instruments were fine. I said, “Don’t worry. Everything is okay.” I was trying to reassure them, but I was also reassuring myself.

We had no warning lights on the panel and the navigation equipment was functioning properly. I told the passengers and crew what I had done and that everything was fine. I turned on the cabin lights as well.

About two minutes later, all the lights came back on in the cockpit. I was still flying the plane, but all the lights had gone out again. I was confused about what had just happened.

The man who had passed out never woke up or changed position during this time. His traveling companions never noticed anything unusual about him or the lights. The two medical personnel never said anything about the lights going out. They never mentioned it at any point during or after the incident.

I thought about reporting what had happened, but I didn’t think it was necessary. It was just a weird anomaly. It could have been a short circuit or something else that caused the lights to go out.

I never mentioned it to anyone else on the flight.

About a month later, I was flying a similar route and aircraft. I was flying a Bombardier Global Express. It was another overnight flight with mostly clear weather and scattered clouds. About two hours into the flight, I saw the same passenger from the previous flight sitting across the aisle from me. He was the same passenger who had passed out on the previous flight. He was awake, but he didn’t seem to recognize me. I was surprised to see him on this flight.

I was sitting there thinking about what had happened with the lights when I saw him look over at me. I could swear he was staring directly at me. He looked at me for a few minutes, then he closed his eyes and sat back. I thought about asking him if he recognized me, but I never did.

I filed a report with my employer and the FAA about the passenger who had passed out on the previous flight and reappeared on this flight. I never mentioned what happened with the lights. I was told that I had made a mistake. I was told that the man had never existed on my previous flight. He had never purchased a ticket or boarded the aircraft. He didn’t even exist at all.

I’ve been flying since, but I never forgot about that night and the strange incident that occurred.

I’m not saying that I believe this place is a simulation. I don’t know what to think. But I do think that what happened to me was strange. It’s one of the oddest things I’ve ever experienced in my life.

I don’t know if anyone else has experienced anything like this. I don’t know what to think.

I don’t know what happened. But I do know that I don’t like it.
