I'm usually pretty laid back, but this situation is beyond me.

I recently spent 10 days at a hotel in Spain (my first time traveling solo). The first few days were perfect. The hotel is beautiful, staff is lovely, and everything went smoothly.

Then, the third night, I had a fire alarm go off and I had to evacuate the hotel. We were ushered to a local bar (thankful that the staff arranged a shuttle). I went back to the hotel the next morning and the staff confirmed it was a minor issue. No big deal, mistakes happen.

The following night, the same fire alarm goes off AGAIN. I'm not panicking at this point; maybe it's a false alarm? But, I find out I'm the ONLY guest to be evacuated. Everyone else remains in their rooms. I'm completely baffled - how could some guests be "safe" but not me?

I'm still at the hotel, feeling a bit annoyed and confused, but also not sure if I should make a fuss.

Now, here's where it gets weird. The next morning, I go to the front desk to inquire about the fire alarm. The manager is suddenly very defensive and starts making excuses. "Maybe it was just a drill?" or "It might have been a mistake on the alarm system?" I'm polite but persistent, asking if they could at least explain what happened.

The manager starts getting agitated and says, "I don't see why you're making such a big deal. It was just a precautionary measure. You're here, aren't you?" And then, out of nowhere, he asks, "Would you like an upgrade to a nicer room? We have a suite available. It's on the house." I'm completely stunned. Is he trying to buy my silence?

I don't know how to react. Part of me just wants to enjoy the upgrade and not make a bigger deal out of it. But another part of me is thinking, "No, this feels weird. I shouldn't just let this go."

What would you do in my situation?

TL;DR: I had a fire alarm go off at my hotel in Spain, but only I had to evacuate. The staff is acting weird and offering an "upgrade" as if it's a bribe.
