I was at the wrong airport when 9/11 happened. I saw news about it on a TV inside the airport, but I was still stopped by security and missed my flight because I didn’t have my boarding pass on my person. I almost missed a semester of college because of it.

My family and I were traveling from Canada to visit my uncle in the US. My mom and dad were both traveling with me, but I stayed away from them when we arrived at the airport to go to the bathroom. When I returned, they told me to go to the departures board to see which gate my plane was boarding from. I did, and when I got to my gate, I saw everyone was lining up for their seats in the plane. I figured boarding had already started, and went to the desk to ask if I should hurry to my seat. The guy told me to show him my ticket and boarding pass, and when I showed it to him, he told me it wasn’t valid. I told him it was, and he said I would have to go all the way back to the ticket counter to get it replaced. I told him I had already used the washroom and didn’t feel like going all the way back there. He told me again that I couldn’t board.

I didn’t think much of it, so I went back to the departures board, and saw my flight wasn’t listed at all. I went back to my gate, and the flight was no longer there. I went to the desk, told him I didn’t get on my flight, and asked if they could put me on the next flight. He said he couldn’t help me, so I told him I was going to go to the customer service desk for help. He told me to get a new boarding pass from the ticket counter. I did, but the lady there said she couldn’t give me a new boarding pass because the flight I wanted had departed and there were no more flights that night.

I told her this wasn’t right, so she said I should call the airline directly to ask for help. I tried calling the airline, but the phones were out of service. I told her again that this wasn’t right, and she told me they had closed the doors to the plane and couldn’t let me on anymore. I asked her if she had any idea when the next flight was departing from this airport. She told me none. I asked her if she had any idea when the next flight was departing from any airport. She told me none.

I asked her if I could take the next train to NYC, because I know the next flight to my destination was departing from there, but she told me she didn’t know if there were any trains departing from there that night. I told her I didn’t think this was right, so she said she would go and ask someone. She came back and told me that I would have to go to the airport in NYC and ask them for help. I asked her how I would get to the airport. She said she didn’t know.

I asked her if I could take a taxi, but she said she didn’t know if there were any taxis driving at that hour. I told her again that I didn’t think this was right, and I was going to go to the departures board to look up flights departing from this airport. When I saw there were flights departing from Boston, she said she knew someone who could help. She went and asked her and was told to call security.

I didn’t think much of it, but when two security guards came to escort me off airport property, I started freaking out. I told the ticket counter lady that this wasn’t right, and she told me to go with them. I said no, so she called more security. The more security came, and they told me I was being trespasssed from airport property for not following instructions. I told them I was just trying to find a flight, and they told me that I couldn’t because my ticket and boarding pass were invalid.

I asked them where they wanted me to go, and they said I could leave the airport or call a taxi to take me somewhere. I told them that I didn’t have my passport or any other form of ID on me, so I couldn’t leave. I didn’t want to go anywhere, but they told me to go or they would call the police. I told them I didn’t want to go anywhere and to stop touching me, so they called the police. The police came and asked me what the issue was. They were told by security and the airline staff that I was trespassing from airport property because I didn’t have my ticket or boarding pass on me. I told them that wasn’t true, that my ticket was valid but the boarding pass wasn’t, and that I just wanted to find a flight. They told me they couldn’t let me stay in the airport, and I asked them where I was supposed to go.

I told them I was trying to get home, and they told me I would have to wait until I could get my ticket and boarding pass. I told them that I couldn’t because I had already used the washroom, and I was tired and hungry. They told me to call my parents to come pick me up, and I asked them how I was supposed to do that since I didn’t have my phone or any money to buy a phone. I told them that I didn’t think this was right, so they told me to call my friends. I didn’t know how to do that without a phone, so I asked them if I could use the phones at the airport. They told me that they were out of order. I told them that I didn’t think this was right, and they told me that they couldn’t let me stay in the airport, so I had to leave. I asked them where I was supposed to go, so they told me to go find someone to help me. I told them I had already told them that I didn’t know who to ask for help, and I was tired and hungry.

I didn’t know what to do, so I said okay, but I told them I still didn’t know how I was going to get home without my ticket or boarding pass. They told me that they didn’t care and to just leave. I told them that I didn’t know what to do, and they said to go and to leave them alone. They were starting to get pissed at me, so I didn’t know what else to do, so I walked out of the airport. I was in a different airport, so I didn’t know how to get to my original airport. I didn’t know what to do.

I ended up walking to the highway and hitching a ride. The people who picked me up dropped me off at the bus station, and I took a bus to the train station. I took the train to NYC. When I got to the airport there, I asked someone at the customer service desk what flight I could take to my destination, and they told me to go to a specific gate. When I got to the gate, the flight wasn’t there. I went to the desk, told the lady I didn’t see the flight, and she told me to go back to the departures board to find another flight.

I looked for a flight going to my destination, and I found one that departed a couple hours later. I told her I was going to buy the ticket, but she said that the flight I wanted was no longer available, and I would have to wait until the next available flight. I asked her when that was, and she told me the next day. I asked her if she knew anything about what was going on with the other airport, and she told me that all flights departing from the other airport were cancelled until further notice.

I asked her if that was right, and she told me that she didn’t know anything and couldn’t help me. I told her I was trying to get home, and she said she didn’t care and to go. I asked her if she knew what time the next flight was departing, but she told me again to go. I asked her again and again, and she told me again to go every time. I told her that I was trying to get home and didn’t know what to do, but she told me again to go. I told her again I didn’t know what to do, and she told me again to go.

I was frustrated, and I told her that I didn’t think this was right, and she said she didn’t care. I asked her again if she knew anything about what was going on with the other airport, and she told me she didn’t know anything about that, and that she couldn’t help me. I told her again that I was trying to get home and didn’t know what to do, and she said again to go. I told her again and again and again, but she just told me again and again to go. I was starting to get angry, but I didn’t want to do anything violent. I told her I was going to call the airline directly to ask them for help, but she told me the phones were out of service.

I walked away and looked around to see if there was someone else who could help me. I saw a man and asked him what time the next flight was departing to my destination, and he told me to call the airline directly. I said I tried that already, but he said to try again, so I called the airline directly. The lady told me again that the flights were all cancelled and that I couldn’t get on the next flight until the next day.

I asked her again if that was right, but she told me again that the flights were all cancelled and that I couldn’t get on the next flight until the next day.
