I (24M) was arrested at the airport when I returned to the USA. I travel to other countries a lot.

I have never had any issues when returning to the states. I travel quite a bit and have never had any issues. On my most recent trip back from Spain I had a thick green 5 pound bag of weed on me that I had purchased at a dispensary in Spain with my USA credit card (they accept credit cards and sell to Americans). I had a large, thick USA newspaper with the weed in it (like the kind you buy cigars in) that I thought was enough to keep the smell in and keep it from being noticeable. I was wrong. On my flight from Madrid to Atlanta the guy sitting next to me on the plane had to choke back a gag. I don’t smoke and was just trying to transport it back to the USA for some buddies of mine, but I got caught. I got off the plane in Atlanta and took the special bag out of my overhead compartment, then went through customs & agriculture, and then walked straight into a special room. They immediately took me to the side and took my luggage and purse from me. I sat down in a chair and asked what was going on and they said I would be screened with an dog. A dog came over, started smelling my bag and my purse, and then started running in circles around me and wagging its butt. It had smelled the weed, and obviously told them since they immediately called the police and took me down for questioning. <br><br>I answered all of their questions truthfully. I told them I had brought the weed in to the airport in a newspaper and it must have seeped out. They searched me and my luggage and then took me into another room. About 20 minutes later they let me go. They put me on the next flight to my final destination and I haven’t heard from them since. I know they likely put it in my luggage before they let me go, but I was relieved that they let me go. I could have gone 20 years.
