Every year I go on a solo trip to a new country. I'm 22F and Caucasian. I've had some weird, scary, and disappointing experiences along the way. I'm sharing some of them here, in the hopes that people will be aware of the possibility of these things and avoid them.

**Weird:**
The medical care in Cuba is extremely underdeveloped. While I was there, a woman was admitted to the hospital in a coma, and they gave her a heart bypass without consulting her family. They then forgot to give her the medication she needed and she died. The people in the hospital were extremely rude to her family afterwards.

**Scary:**
In Spain, I went to a nightclub and had to pay 20€ to get in, even though my ticket included free entrance. The man at the door told me I had to pay anyway. I didn't have any money, so I went back to my Airbnb to get cash. But when I tried to go back to the club, the man at the door told me I couldn't come in because I didn't have a stamp on my ticket. Then he punched me in the face and threw me out. Luckily a police officer saw it and arrested him and his friends. He's currently in jail.

**Scary:**
In Italy, a man in his 50s grabbed my ass and tried to kiss me in a park. Luckily I was with a friend and we were able to fight him off. He then tried to attack us again when we were walking home, but the police stopped him.

**Scary:**
In Greece, I took an Uber from the airport and the driver told me I should stay in an all-inclusive hotel and not leave it because he was afraid of something happening to me. I told him I was going to stay in an Airbnb, and he drove me there himself and made sure I was safe.

**Scary:**
In Croatia, I was walking around at 4am and a man in his 60s started chasing me. Luckily I found a hostel and hid there until the police came.

**Scary:**
In Portugal, I was walking alone and a man in his 40s tried to push me into a car. Luckily I managed to get away.

**Disappointing:**
In South Korea, my host was a "business English teacher". It turned out that he was 60 years old, married, and lived with his mistress. He never taught me English and instead told me that I was "too pretty" to be a teacher and that I should work as a model instead.

**Disappointing:**
In Taiwan, I took a plane with "unlimited baggage". The woman at the check-in desk told me to pay 60€ for my bags, even though I had already paid for unlimited baggage.

**Disappointing:**
In Brazil, my host told me that I would be living in a 3-bedroom apartment. When I got there, I realized that I was sharing a room with 5 other people.

**Disappointing:**
In Poland, I booked a 2-bedroom apartment on Airbnb with a balcony and a shared kitchen. When I got there, it was a studio apartment with no kitchen. They told me that the other room was for storage and the balcony was for a dog.

**Disappointing:**
In Argentina, I booked a 5-star hotel on Expedia. When I got there, the rooms were dirty, there was no air conditioning, and the beds were like sleeping on the floor. I ended up moving to a 4-star hotel.

**Disappointing:**
In Chile, I booked a flight with LATAM. When I arrived at the airport, they told me that I was sitting in first class. I didn't want first class, so I asked to be moved. The flight attendants told me that I was too pretty to sit in economy.

**Disappointing:**
In Colombia, I took a bus. The seats were broken, there was no air conditioning, and the bus stopped every 10 minutes. The roads were also extremely bad.

**Disappointing:**
In Turkey, I took a bus. The seats were broken, there was no air conditioning, and the bus stopped every 10 minutes. The roads were also extremely bad.

**Disappointing:**
In China, I took a bullet train. The seats were broken, there was no air conditioning, and the train stopped every 10 minutes. The roads were also extremely bad.

**Disappointing:**
In Morocco, I took a bus.
