[Long flight] Do you put your seat back?

So I’ve always been curious about people’s opinions about this, when you’re on a plane and you put your seat back and a tall person sits in the seat in front of you, do you put your seat back?<br><br>I always do, and I always get the same response from the tall person:<br><br>“Excuse you! I’m tall.”<br><br>I know dude. You’re tall. I get it. But I’m trying to sleep. I don’t know if I look like I’m trying to sleep or not, because I’m pretty good at faking being awake, but if I do happen to look like I’m sleeping then I always get woken up with this comment.<br><br>I had one time where I was trying to sleep with my headphones on, and this dude put my seat back, and I obviously fell asleep. I woke up to him talking to another person, and I couldn’t figure out who the other person was, and I thought it was the flight attendant, so I said “yes?”<br><br>And he’s like “I’m sitting in the seat in front of you.”<br><br>I was so confused, like who the fuck is that? And I looked down and it was the dude who put my seat back, and I was like “you put my seat back?”<br>And he said “yeah.”<br><br>I’m not mad at him for putting my seat back. People need to sleep. But I was mad he was talking to me while I was sleeping. I’m like, you’re trying to sleep too. I told him I was tired, and he said “me too.” Like, oh so you’re trying to sleep too? Well I’m trying to sleep too. So maybe you shouldn’t have put my seat back then, huh?<br><br>But I’ve also heard the comment “I paid *more* for this seat.” I paid for my seat too, bro. I paid for my seat and my luggage fees, and you paid more for your seat, your luggage fees, and your meal. You don’t get to sleep more.<br><br>But I always feel so mean if I put my seat back and someone doesn’t say anything. It makes me feel so mean and so guilty, like I just hurt someone’s feelings. I’m not a monster, though. I’m not a monster because I’m 5’8”, and I’m not a monster because I want to sleep.<br><br>So I guess my question to Chambers is: Do you put your seat back, or do you leave it straight up so the person in front of you can’t sleep?
