In my experience, there are a few things that seem to happen over and over again when you travel to a new country. Here are a few:

1. **Everyone wants to be your friend (until they find out where you're from)**: I've noticed that almost everyone wants to be your friend until they find out where you're from. Then they either treat you like dirt or they pretend like they don't know anything about you. For example, I've had people from the Middle East be really nice to me until they found out that I was from America and then they suddenly hated me.

2. **You're always the only one**: It's strange how often you're the only person from your country, let alone your race, that you meet in a country. I remember when I was living in France I was one of only a few Americans living in all of Paris.

3. **The people who hate you are always the same**: For example, in America we hate the Muslims and we love the Israelis. But if you go to the Middle East you'll find that everyone hates the Americans and loves the Israelis too. In Europe the people who hate Americans are the same ones who hate the Israelis and Jews.

4. **You're always right even when you're wrong**: For example, in the US people hate immigrants and think that they are taking our jobs. But when I was in Europe they were saying that Americans don't respect immigrants and that we are afraid of them. But I'm like, "I don't know, I think most Americans think that immigrants are taking our jobs and we hate them."

5. **Everyone thinks the same**: Even though you're in a different country, everyone seems to think the same. For example, if you go to the Middle East, everyone is against the Jews, if you go to Europe everyone loves the Jews, and if you go to America you'll find that half of the people love Jews and the other half hates them.

6. **You're always the outsider**: You're always the outsider and you're always the one who doesn't fit in. For example, in America you don't fit in if you're European, and in Europe you don't fit in if you're American. In the Middle East you don't fit in if you're not Muslim, and in Israel you don't fit in if you're not Jewish.

7. **Everyone wants you to be something you're not**: You're always being asked to be something that you're not. For example, in America we're told that we're the greatest country in the world. But if you go to the Middle East they will tell you that America is the worst country in the world and that you shouldn't go there. But then if you go to America and you're from the Middle East you'll find that people are like, "Oh, America isn't that bad, we're all friends and we love you." It's all a lie.

8. **Everyone wants you to believe the same thing**: Everyone wants you to believe the same thing. For example, if you're in Israel they'll tell you that they have the right to exist. And if you're in the Middle East they'll tell you the opposite. And then if you go to America they'll tell you that they're supporting Israel and they want them to exist and if you go to Europe they'll be like, "Israel has no right to exist, we should all support the Palestinians."

9. **Everyone wants you to care about something you don't care about**: Everyone wants you to care about something you don't even care about. For example, if you're from America and you go to the Middle East they'll be like, "You have to care about Palestine, it's so important." But I'm like, "I don't really give a shit about Palestine." But then if you go to Europe they'll be like, "You have to care about Israel, they're so oppressed." And I'm like, "I don't give a shit about Israel either." It's all just a game to them.

10. **Everyone wants you to think the same thing about them**: Everyone wants you to think the same thing about them. For example, in the US we're told that we're the greatest country in the world. But if you go to the Middle East they'll tell you that America is the worst country in the world. It's all a lie.

11. **Everyone wants you to respect their culture**: Everyone wants you to respect their culture, but no one respects yours. For example, in America they'll be like, "You have to respect our culture." But if you're from Europe and you go to America they'll be like, "We don't respect your culture, it's weird."

12. **Everyone wants you to think that they're better than everyone else**: Everyone wants you to think that they're better than everyone else. For example, in America we're told that we're the greatest country in the world. And if you go to Europe they'll be like, "Oh, America is the greatest country in the world. We don't think we're better than anyone else." It's all a lie.

13. **Everyone wants you to think that you owe them something**: Everyone wants you to think that you owe them something. For example, in America we're told that we owe our lives to the soldiers who died in World War I. And if you go to Europe they'll be like, "Oh, you owe us something because your great great great great great great grandfather died in our war. You have to respect us and pay us money."

14. **Everyone wants you to care about their history**: Everyone wants you to care about their history. For example, in America we're told that we're the greatest country in the world because of our history. And if you go to the Middle East they'll be like, "You have to care about our history. It's so important." But I'm like, "I don't give a shit about your history." It's all just a game to them.

15. **Everyone wants you to respect their religion**: Everyone wants you to respect their religion, but no one respects yours. For example, in America they'll be like, "You have to respect our religion." But if you're from Europe and you go to America they'll be like, "We don't respect your religion, it's weird."

16. **Everyone wants you to think that they're the victims**: Everyone wants you to think that they're the victims. For example, in America we're told that we're the greatest country in the world because we're the victims of everything. And if you go to the Middle East they'll be like, "Oh, we're the victims of everything. You have to feel sorry for us."

17. **Everyone wants you to respect their government**: Everyone wants you to respect their government, but no one respects yours.
