My dad was a serial killer. And I only found out a few days ago

TLDR: my dad was a serial killer. I found out yesterday and it has been a shit show.<br><br>My dad has been gone for many years now, so I never really knew the man. I was only 6 when he went to jail, so I never had a chance to really know him. The last time I saw him was when he came to my high school graduation, he was released from jail and living with us at the time. But the few weeks he was there, he seemed different. Not really happy to be with us, more like happy to see us. He got drunk a lot, and I remember him going out and coming back and out again. After he left, we got a call that he was found drunk and taken in by the police. He stayed with my family for a couple more days then was brought home to us. My dad had a medical issue, his liver was almost gone. The doctors said if he continued to drink, he would not be around long. That was in 2005, I am now 32 and my dad passed away a couple of years ago from those medical issues.<br><br>A few days ago, my mom came home crying and said she had some news she needed to tell us. My husband, me, my siblings, and mom all sat down. She told us she found out my dads name was brought up in some true crime podcast and that she went to the computer and found out he was a serial killer. I did a quick search and there were a couple podcasts and articles, but not much. My family has been going over all this and we are going over old family stuff and trying to figure out if he was one. We are currently looking into hiring a private investigator and searching online for people who may know something.<br><br>I don't really know where to go from here. I feel like my whole world has been turned upside down and I am trying to figure out what to do. I am not married to the man I love, we have been together for 14 years and have a 2 year old. I am not sure what I should do now.<br><br>&#x200B;
