Why are flight attendants always so friendly when you’re a female solo traveler?

I recently had an experience on a flight from Paris to Miami, where the flight attendant kept complimenting my French accent, and even went out of his way to treat me to a drink and a snack. It was really sweet, but also made me wonder... is this something that happens to other solo female travelers too, and why is this?
