I’ve been living in Spain for 9 months and the following observations never fail to amaze me.

1. You can park your car anywhere in city centers. No need to look around for blue parkings, you just park where you want to and walk to your destination.<br><br>2. The internet in the apartments is always fast and reliable, and it’s included in the price. In the U.S., you have to pay extra for fast internet. In the U.S. (Philadelphia) it took me 2 years and $300 to finally get 600mb internet.<br><br>3. You get 13 public holidays. If one of these holidays falls on a weekend, the following Monday is also considered a holiday.<br><br>4. The quality of life is superior to the U.S. It’s cleaner, cheaper, better climate, better food, etc. You can live like a king with $1500 a month.<br><br>5. You don’t need air conditioning. They say it’s too hot in the south, but it’s not as hot as Phoenix, Arizona. And it’s cooler at night.<br><br>6. You can take a shower every 3rd day. Nobody will judge you.<br><br>7. You can’t get arrested for doing weed. Spain is very liberal and nobody gives a shit.<br><br>8. You can’t get a cold or the flu. Nobody is sick here. I got a cold for the first time in 9 months.<br><br>9. You can’t get bed bugs or cockroaches in your apartment. The apartments are all brand new and clean.<br><br>10. There are no homeless people. Spain is very safe and prosperous.<br><br>11. You can live with your girlfriend/guyfriend without marrying her/him. You don’t need to get married or register your relationship. They don’t give a shit.<br><br>12. The food is cheap. You can eat a meal at a restaurant for 10€ ($11). You can buy 1 kilogram of fruit for 1.50€ ($1.67).<br><br>13. The U.S. dollar is worth 102% of the Euro. 1€ is worth $1.02.<br><br>14. You get 30 days of vacation a year. This can be used throughout the year.<br><br>15. They don’t give a shit about mental health. You can go crazy in the streets, yelling and screaming at the top of your lungs, and nobody will call the police.
