The U.S. Government Has Lost Its Ability To Conceal Its Projects

In the past, the government had the ability to conceal a project that it planned to carry out, and it would remain a secret until it was carried out. With the rise of independent journalists, the internet, and social media, it seems to me that the government has lost this ability to conceal its projects.

In the past, once the government decided on a project, it seemed like they could carry out the project in secret. The NSA spying program, drone technology, and other projects seemed to remain classified until they were ready to be rolled out. Today it seems like this is not the case.

I'm wondering if the government's plans to launch the Project Godlike AI weapons system, which uses AI to identify, track, and destroy enemy targets, have been compromised. If the government had wanted to keep it a secret, they would have never shared that information. It seems to me that there is a significant risk of a project like this being leaked to the enemy or falling into the wrong hands. If that were to happen, it seems to me that it would be catastrophic.

What do you think? Have you noticed that it seems more difficult for the government to keep its projects secret these days? Are there any projects that you think were compromised and what were the consequences of that?
