What if Apple decided to open source iOS?

Imagine if Apple decided to open source iOS. It would allow anyone to customize the operating system to their liking. You would have custom launchers, icon packs, and even the ability to change the color scheme. This would be amazing for developers because it would make it easier to develop apps for iOS. <br><br>But, there is a big problem. Currently, there is no way to make money from open sourced operating systems. You cannot display ads. You cannot collect data. This is why many operating systems such as Windows and Android are closed sourced.<br><br>But, if Apple were to open source iOS and allow developers to monetize the operating system, it would be amazing for developers and for Apple.
