Rajeev Misra says there’s “no need to hire more people” for the Apple Car. This directly contradicts previous statements and reveals a major issue

I posted this on Bloomberg and they took it down so I'm sharing it here.

I think there are a couple things here:

1. The Apple Car is going to be delayed.

2. There's no Apple Car as we've been led to believe.

The first one is pretty obvious. If they had a functional Car project, they wouldn't be delaying it again. If they had a functional Car project, they wouldn't be making the new hires they've been making.

The second one isn't really new but this interview shows it best.

If you remember, Jeff Williams said there's a "lot of hardware going on" at Apple. The quote was:

>“There’s a lot of hardware going on in the company. And there’s a lot of — as you look around this room, you see all the great talent that’s working on all these different products and how they all work together,”

There was no "lot of hardware going on" at Apple. There's a couple projects that are almost done like the AR Glasses, there's a few that are dead like Apple Glasses, and then there's the Car which is in limbo.

The reason there's a "lot of hardware going on" is because they were trying to replace their software with AR. You need both, you can't have one without the other.

What this interview also reveals is that there is no Apple Car. They're talking about putting it in the factories already and the supply chain and stuff, but they don't have a working model for it to do that.

This was a massive mistake on Bloomberg's part and it reveals how much they rely on the company for clicks. They'll write anything and anyone will say anything to make it seem like they have a product.
