It’s so funny how many people who grew up with the internet don’t understand how much the world changed without it in the past 15 years.

I was a teenager when the internet was introduced to the world in 1999 and I recall that the promises made by the US government was that every household will have access to internet. I grew up with it, I’m 32 now, and I understand it.

But nowadays I see a lot of younger generation not understanding the past and how the world has changed since 2007-2008 when the world became digitized. Sure, they use technology but they don’t understand what life is like without it.

I remember having to wait for the pages to load on internet explorer, having to refresh the page, having to wait for the emails to load. I remember buying CDs and DVDs. I remember having to pay $15 to get my hair cut. I remember having to drive to the mall to buy stuff. I remember having to spend quality time with family. I remember going to the library to do research. I remember waiting for 2 weeks to get a reply on an email. I remember calling people on the phone. I remember going to the bank to deposit checks.

It’s funny how the world has changed without us realizing it. The world has digitized and the younger gen seems to not realize it.
