My girlfriend (28F) thinks I (30M) am abusing our cat. This is turning into a full blown argument, help.

So my girlfriend and I got our first cat together this last February, let's call her Fluffy. We adopted her from a local shelter and she was very young when we got her (continues to be). She's a very energetic cat and she's doing well overall.

Here's the issue. My girlfriend says that I manhandle our cat too much, that she's scared of me, and that I pick her up the wrong way. I've had cats since I was about 8 years old and have gotten a cat every 2-3 years up until now. I know how to hold a cat, I'm not twisting her ears, ears, vision, limbs, etc. I'm not suffocating her with a tight hold around her torso, and I'm not shaking her. I gently pick up Fluffy by her front legs, kind of holding her upside down, and kind of "swoop" her up into my arms. I also give her gentle tugs on her fur sometimes when I'm playing with her. I gently put her down too. My girlfriend says that I put Fluffys feet on the side of things, like countertops and she'll hurt herself. I've never put Fluffy on a surface greater than she can jump, like a nightstand or something. We have had minimal injuries from Fluffy, just scratch marks here and there and once she got her front paws smashed in our condo door when we were leaving and it hurt her but my girlfriend blames this on me.

So here's what happens. We're arguing about other things and my girlfriend is like "You manhandle Fluffy and you're abusing her. You put her on things that are too high and she'll fall and hurt herself!" And I'm arguing back that I put her on things she can already jump on, she's a young cat she's going to be jumping shit in a minute anyway so it doesn't matter, and that I'm not abusing her.

I know cat abuse is a serious topic. But I don't think I am. Is there anything I can say to make this stop? I feel like every time we get into an argument now she's like "Manhands are bad!" Or "You're abusing Fluffy!" It's getting to be too much. I don't know if we should go to the vet together to ask them if I'm doing something wrong. I don't know what to do.

tl;dr: My girlfriend is accusing me of abusing our cat, but I don't think I am. How do I get her off of this?
