I am shaking as I write this on world mental health day because my world is falling apart and I have nowhere to turn to.

My dad has always been a good man. He was the all American boy next door, got by on charm and looks. Never a girlfriend until he was in college and that's when I was born. He's had a few girlfriends since my mum but nothing too serious, always a friend and never someone who wanted to settle down. He's never been abusive to my mum or physically me or brother. He has spanked me a few times when I was little and gave me the shame guilt complex about it. He was a great family man. Always present. He never went to our schools or anything but he attended everything.

He's 42 now and looks like he 25. He's still very good looking and chases women a lot of the times women he cannot have. He's a cheater, I've always been ashamed to admit it but I never said anything because my mum and brother would get involved and he would never do it with my friends just women he worked with. He's had a girlfriend for the last 6 months, she is 22 and I do not believe she knows about his younger son (*see brother).

So I was looking for old photos for my Gran's 60th (next week) and I was looking through my dad's flickr account (he's a photographer and has a public account). There were photos from a case he was in 15 years ago as a volunteer reporter for a paper. He was there for when the girl was found. I went into the sets and one of the sets was photos of the girl before she went missing. Then 2 sets from when she went missing and the search. The last set was when she was found. I looked through them and saw the last one. It was a red flag but I didn't think much into it because my dad was there when she was found.

I went on the web and searched for local abduction cases from 2008 and it led me to a wikipedia page and a Chambers post on a suburb's subchambers. The girl had been abducted for 7 days and they found her in another state. The post mentioned my dad's name. The story was that the girl had been with her dad (she was around 9 or 10 years old at the time and the dad was 27). They were in their car and he had to stop at a gas station in the suburb my dad was in. He left her in the car and she was abducted by a man. She had a gold necklace. Rang for food, and shot through a fastfood store with a store manager filming her on phone. She was found in a town in Australia (I live in New Zealand but am Australian). The police who found her were his friends, and the man who abducted her was caught a week later.

I am ramming into a mental wall. Why did he have so many photos of it? I don't think he was the one who abducted her. I looked into the officer's who found her, but nothing on my dad. Why would he have all these photos? What else has he lied about? I don't even want to ask him.
