My husband (33M) has tossed my (28F) phone out the window and damaged my earbuds. Should I tell him I love him despite this?

I’ve been married to my husband for three years and we’ve been together for six. We have a great relationship for the most part.

He’s a mechanic, and I’m a nurse, so we have very different work environments. When he came home last night he was frustrated. He had been trying to fix a car for hours and his boss was getting impatient, which is unusual for him.

He came inside and told me he needed to go back to the shop to finish the job. I was in the middle of a phone call, so I got off the phone and gave him a kiss goodbye. When he hugged me he’s tight and held me really close, but I didn’t think much of it.

I told him to go back to work and do his best. He said he would, and went back to the shop.

Twenty minutes later, I was still on the phone. I got up to throw my trash away and I saw my phone on the counter. My earbuds were in it, and I realized they were damaged.

My phone had over $300 worth of damage to it. My earbuds had another $60 worth of damage. So, I decided to take him back to storage with me.

I grabbed his things and left the house, saying goodbye to him as I went.

It was only when I was halfway down the street that I realized I’d thrown his stuff out.

I walked back to him, apologized, and went back home. I was already planning how I was going to pay for repairs. When I opened my phone I saw it was smashed to pieces.

I can’t believe that he did this. How could he be so careless? He knew I didn’t want him to break anything, and yet he did it anyway.

I’m really upset. I feel angry and sad, and I’m not sure what to do next. Should I tell him I love him despite this? Or should I tell him he needs to get better?

Tldr: husband broke my phone by throwing it out the window.
