As an agnostic, I'm still open to the idea of the afterlife. But in general, I find that the vast majority of people here don't believe in it. It seems most people here are nihilistic, which I totally understand. But I also don't really get why so many people here don't believe in the afterlife, even when it comes to the concept of reincarnation. I mean, I get it, but at the same time I don't get it. I don't get why people don't want to believe in an afterlife, especially when they've lived a virtuous life, especially when they've loved and cared for others, especially when they've made a positive difference in other people's lives.

To me, the idea of an afterlife is so romanticized, so it's really hard for me to see the point in not believing in it. I feel like it's such a waste of time and energy to even question its existence. I mean, sure, it's hard for us to understand the concept of an afterlife, but I feel like that's because we're still stuck in our ego-based, materialistic mindset, whereas the afterlife exists outside of our ego-based, materialistic mindset. That's why we can't comprehend the afterlife. That's why we have to be more open-minded and have more faith.

To me, the afterlife is like the ultimate form of existence. If there is one, that's all that truly matters. Not what we do in this life, not how we live our lives, not how we treat others, none of that matters. What matters is what happens after we die, and if it's a positive experience, then that's all that matters. It's just... it's hard for me to understand how people can't want that. That's why I'm genuinely curious if anybody here believes in the afterlife.
