Why does nobody like Stoicism?

I feel like Stoicism is like the underdog of the philosophical world. Nobody talks about it much. The modern world seems to be enamored with existentialism, nihilism, and postmodernism. But stoicism seems like a very common sense philosophy. It makes sense that we should be happy with whatever situation we find ourselves in and to just live the best life we can with what we are given. It makes a lot of sense that we should be indifferent to external events. It's a pretty good philosophy and I just don't understand why nobody really likes to talk about it or follow it.
