How do you guys think philosophy relates to science?

I've always wondered how the two fields are connected, because both of them seem to have a similar goal in mind, which is to understand the nature of reality. However, they seem to approach this from very different angles. Is there a direct relationship between the two, or is it more like they're just parallel streams of inquiry?
