Is morality necessary for human happiness?

Let me be clear that when I ask this question I’m not necessarily asking if morality is necessary for individual happiness but more broadly speaking is morality necessary for happiness in human societies. <br><br>If you were to imagine a future world in which we live in a society where morality is not necessary, what would this look like and how would people live in this society?<br><br>Would a society without morality be better off or would this society just fall apart?
