I’m not asking whether you think we’d have fun in one. Or whether one would be better than reality. I’m asking whether we live in one.

Here are some thoughts on this.

If you exist in a virtual reality, it seems like the ‘makers’ of the simulation would be able to see how your time passes. So the fact that time seems to pass so slowly for us makes it seem like we live in the real world.

However, if you have an existential crisis, it makes you question whether your life actually matters. If it doesn’t, then it makes you wonder what the point of a simulated reality would be. What’s the purpose of simulating something if it doesn’t actually mean anything?

So what are your thoughts? Do we live in a simulated reality, or do we live in the real world?
