Why are there no philosophers who support the idea that people should be vegetarians?

It seems to me that it's quite absurd that animals have to be hurt in order to feed us. Many people don't have a problem with that, but philosophers generally seem to disagree. I'm trying to find information about the philosophers who defend this point of view, but unfortunately, I haven't found much. Can anyone help me?
