Why do so many philosophers focus on ethics?

I recently posted this in AskPhilosophers, but I thought it might be more productive to post it here. I think it's clear that philosophy is a diverse field, and it seems like the vast majority of people who consider themselves philosophers focus primarily on ethics. Now I know that many famous philosophers, like Kant, Aristotle, Nietzsche, and Plato, have written extensively on ethics, but I don't understand why this is the case. Is it because ethics seems like a more accessible field than the others, and philosophers tend to be drawn to topics that they can more easily engage with? Or is it because ethics is seen as the most pressing issue in the field? I'd love to hear others' thoughts on this.
