I had a feeling of impending doom as I opened the web browser. I had been through the emails. The messages. The Facebook profile. Everything. But there was something bothering me.

My wife forgot to delete her browser history.

It was a simple mistake that had haunted me all day. I thought about it constantly as I read in bed. It kept me up late into the night.

I was planning to ask her to delete it. I just wanted to get it over with. But I didn’t want to make her think I was snooping around.

She had been very secretive. I knew she had been using it. But I never thought she would use it like that. I had to ask her to delete it.

“Do you want a light?” she asked, standing in the doorway.

“No thanks.” I said.

She sat down next to me. “Something wrong?” she asked.

I hesitated for a moment. “Can you delete your browser history?”

“Why?”

I hesitated again. “I just thought I would ask you to do it.” I said.

“Alright.” She said. “I’ll delete it.”

“Thanks.” I said.

She turned to leave. I called after her. “Wait.”

She turned around. “Yes?”

“What do you usually search for?”

She paused for a moment. She looked uncomfortable. I knew something was up. I knew she had been searching for something on that site.

“Don’t ask me.” She said.

I didn’t have to ask anymore. I had found out. She had been using the internet to search for things that she shouldn’t have been. She was cheating on me.

I watched her as she disappeared into the darkness. I was filled with anger and hatred. I had to find out what she was doing. I had to catch her in the act.

I waited until she fell asleep. Then I crept into her room. She looked so beautiful. I couldn’t believe I had to do this.

I went to her email inbox. I read every single email. Then I went to her Facebook profile. I read every single message. I was trying to find out what she had been searching for.

But there was nothing. There was no message. No email. No message on Facebook.

I was frustrated. I couldn’t find anything.

But then I saw it. Her browsing history. It was right there in front of me. I knew I had to ask her about it.

I went back to my room. I read every single page she had been to. Every single search she had made.

She had been searching for some weird things. Some things didn’t make sense. I couldn’t understand what she was looking for. But I had to ask her about it.

I didn’t know what to say. I promise.”

I knew she had been cheating on me. I knew it for sure.

I waited until she fell asleep. Then I crept into her room. I watched her as she slept.
