I was talking to a friend about how it seems like every time the subject of communism is brought up, there’s this weird “oh yeah, it’s not real communism! It’s just social-democracy or whatever, it’s not real communism, it’s not real communism” that just seems so weird. Why does that always seem to happen? Why does it always seem so necessary to say it’s not “real” communism? It just seems so weird to me. I can understand how social-democracy would be considered “not real communism”, but why would anyone say something is “not real communism” and why does it always seem to be said by people who are pro-communism? Why does that always happen?
