When I was a kid, we had to turn off the TV when the president was on.

It never occurred to me how absurd this was. It was an unwritten rule that didn’t really make sense. This was the early 2000s, her name was George W. Bush, and yet we all still felt obligated to do it. I think about that now and think it’s pretty funny.
