I'm from South Korea and I was shocked when I learned about the Korean history from British news or documentaries.

For example, I learned in school that South Korea and North Korea were one country and we became two countries because of the Cold War. But from news, it seems that we have always been enemies and I learned in school that we were friends and I feel really brainwashed.

I'm not saying that South Korea is bad, but when I learned from Britain, I felt like what I was learning from South Korea is not the truth and I couldn't trust them anymore.

I want to know from people from other countries. Did you learn that the country you were from was the hero of the war, but when you learned from another country's perspective, you learned that your country was actually a villain?
