I think we can all agree that owning a gun is a privilege, not a right. And I understand that there are people in this world who do not believe they should be able to own a gun, and that's ok. This post is not meant to sway either way on that.<br><br>However, I think we can all agree that the majority of us who do own guns own them for one of three reasons:<br><br>1. Self-defense<br><br>2. Hunting<br><br>3. Recreational shooting<br><br>I also think we can all agree that the people in this world who wish to take those rights away from us do so in favor of an agenda to strip us of power, and leave us as defenseless subjects to a powerful government.<br><br>The point of this post is to remind everyone that we do not need to argue politics every time a question about gun ownership comes up in this sub. There are plenty of good reasons to own a gun that do not relate to politics. <br><br>I personally own guns for recreational shooting. I think everyone should have the right to do so if they so choose.
